Shir grew up in Rishon LeZion, and was known to be a young woman full of happiness and optimism. Amazed at the natural beauty of the world, Shir enjoyed countless sunsets on the beach, and loved dancing, singing, and smiling. She had a big and bright smile that radiated light wherever she went.

Shir was known to be fully present in the lives of those close to her, and would regularly express words of appreciation to her family, "Home is wherever I'm with you - I'm thankful for the family I didn't choose and for the family I did," Shir once said.

For days, her family waited for information about Shir until she was identified in a short video filmed inside the shelter, where she is seen whispering a prayer to the heavens as the voices of murderous terrorists can be heard in the background. A few days later, her family received the devastating news that Shir had been murdered.

As a lover of celebrations, Shir went with her friends to the Nova festival near Kibbutz Re'im. At sunrise on the morning of October 7th, terrorists infiltrated the party, murdering anyone in their path. At 7:30am, Shir contacted her father to tell him that she was hiding in a shelter. About an hour later, she called her family again to say goodbye to them with words of love. That was their last conversation.
