A message to the community about the car ramming incident in North York on April 23, 2018

April 24, 2018 (Toronto, ON) - Jewish Federations of Canada – UIA is shocked and saddened by this violent and senseless attack in Toronto. Our thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathies are with the victims, their families and all those impacted by this horrific attack. We hope for the speedy recovery for those injured.

We commend the emergency response teams for their rapid and courageous response to this devastating incident. The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, our advocacy agent, has been in communication with Toronto Police to ensure that the Jewish community was not targeted or at specific risk.

As the investigation continues, we join citizens of the City of Toronto and the rest of Canada in mourning the lives lost. May their memory be for a blessing.
